This trip was about Forman Acton, my friend of thirty-nine years who passed away this year. Zion was his favorite place and he visited often 1947-1950 when he worked and lived in Los Angeles and he spoke often of Angels Landing. I didn't have any of his remains to scatter at the top, so I brought his slide rule with me on my hikes this trip. (I also "lost" two friends, Shaun and Karen, who moved from Springdale, Utah, to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, so I didn't see them this year at Zion, but I'll be seeing them soon in their new home.)
